Wildwood Mayor To Seek Senate Spot

Wildwood, MO – January 18, 2023 – Wildwood Mayor Jim Bowlin announced his candidacy today for
Missouri Senate District 15. Bowlin, whose second term as Mayor ends in 2024, seeks this position out
of his belief in the need for transparency and accountability within the region.

“Crime is hitting everyone in the District and our State and Federal governments are spending too much.
This has resulted in higher costs for everyday items and it is hurting our families,” Bowlin said. “I will
fight for greater transparency at all levels of government, support law enforcement, punish criminals,
and eliminate waste and abuse of Missourians’ tax dollars.”

There needs to be more focus in Jefferson City on the St. Louis region to provide the tools and resources
to reduce crime. We need to end car thefts, burglaries, and stop fentanyl from coming in. We need
tougher laws, but most immediately, we need our prosecutors to enforce the laws already in place.
Bowlin will fight to give the voters of St. Louis City the right to recall their prosecutor, Kim Gardner,
should she let one more murderer go free.

We need transparency on who is teaching and what is being taught in our schools, how money is being
spent and where it is being spent.

“It is time to pull the curtain on the backroom deals and waste of our tax dollars by the institutions that
are supposed to be serving us,” Bowlin said.

The Mayor, who has been in his post with Wildwood for six years, cited his achievements for the City in
describing how he would work for District 15. Recent successes have included getting high-speed
internet service for all parts of Wildwood, improved transparency through live streaming all City
meetings, and numerous public works and beautification projects – all of which has been accomplished
with consistently balanced budgets and while working with a politically diverse city council.

Bowlin is running as a Republican in Senate District 15. The Senate District includes West St. Louis
County, with several municipalities and unincorporated areas encompassed by the outer boundaries of
Chesterfield, Ballwin, Town & Country, Twin Oaks and Wildwood.
